Q.1. What does Labtam do? Labtam is a leading contract designer, developer and manufacturer of electronic products. Q.2. How long has Labtam been in business? Labtam has been assembling printed circuit boards and providing finished goods since 1972. Q.3. What distinguishes Labtam from its competitors? The Company's strength lies in its combined technical expertise, vision, management and commitment to quality. Q.4. What are Labtam's manufacturing capabilities? Labtam builds most of our customer's product as turnkey. This means we manage material, suppliers and inventory through product build, test and verification. Labtam has state of the art surface mount facilities and continues to offer an unsurpassed quality through-hole manufacturing plant. Our fully qualified and highly trained staff, kit, place, solder and inspect goods efficiently and effectively. Q.5. What are Labtam's equipment capabilities? Features of the SMT line include an ultrasonic stencil cleaner, solder past printer, adhesive dispenser, three component placement machines, a forced air re-flow oven, automatic board loader and a 3 magazine PCB unloader. The SMT line is rated at 37,500 parts per hour. Actual placement rate is 15-20,000 parts per hour including set-ups and component replenishment. Dual wave solder machine offers great flexibility in through-hole Manufacturing, and is coupled with an in-line washing and drying facility. Labtam offers both no clean and water soluble manufacturing process depending on client's requirements. Other equipment includes a hot room for the removal of moisture from PCBs and components. Manufacturing space is in excess of 19,000 sq.ft. Q.6. What are the company's engineering capabilities? We are specialising in design for manufacture(DFM). The best designs are possible when designer and manufacturer are working together on PCB design guidelines, component selection or test strategy. This gives our customers access to advance technology, reduces the workload and cost for product design, and speeds up the product development cycle time. Q.7. What are the company's R & D capabilities? The Labtam R+D has skills gained in over 10 years of developing and supplying computer systems for applications such as machine control, graphics terminals and data acquisition systems. Q.8. What are Labtam's testing and test equipment capabilities? Design For Test (DFT) is our policy. To assure product quality we are including MDA, functional, final unit power up and product burn-in testing. We work closely with Fabrication Australia on all MDA test jig designs and EMC Technologies to meet EC EMC Directive. Testing is accredited by TUV Product Services and is accepted for CB (Competent Body) certificates or on TUV PS certificates. EMC Technologies in house tests providing complete EMI/EMC certification for all these standards: * CISPR/EN All CISPR/EN standards * EN 50081-1 and 2 Generic Emission standards * EN 50082-1 and 2 Generic Immunity standards * IEC1000-4-2 ESD * IEC1000-4-3 Radiated Susceptibility to > 100 V/m * IEC1000-4-4 Electrical Fast Transients * IEC1000-4-5 Surge Immunity * IEC1000-4-6 Immunity to conducted RF * IEC1000-4-7 . * IEC1000-4-8 Immunity to Magnetic Field * Q.9. Q.10. What are the company's supply chain capabilities? Labtam has a local and international supplier network, which allows us to source and stock components for clients at excellent rates. Q.11. Who are Labtam's customers? Labtam has an extensive customer base who are involved in all aspects of electronic manufacture from the leisure industry and information technology, to specialised scientific instruments.
